RAW Vintage have used their considerable experience in rewinding original vintage pickups to create their own series. The RV-5661 Aged is a single-coil bridge pickup based on models from the 1950s. That means it has an authentic look and sound. If you have a vintage guitar or one with an aged look, this pickup will complement it perfectly. The intensive winding process ensures that this pickup delivers strong mids and bright highs that are instantly recognisable.

Design

The RV-5661 uses the same techniques as the '50s-style pickup it is recreating to get the same result. Each magnetic pole has a different height and this, in conjunction with the Alnico 5 magnets, creates a stable magnetic field for a well-balanced sound from each string. AWG-42 gauge wire is wrapped around the coil and this is the same wire used on original vintage pickups. These days, the error range allowed by the industry standard means that the thickness of this wire is not always consistent but RAW Vintage have been careful to ensure the correct thickness so that this pickup delivers an authentic tone.
